The study must deal with the prevention and treatment of the selected disease as well as focusing on the signs/symptoms, causes, effects, personal and social implications. It should involve consideration of the impact of new technologies and/or strategies for treatment and prevention. |
Select a study of a resource of significant importance to the local community. This study should provide opportunities for students to experience decision making and reflect on the consequences of their decisions. |
Part B: a broad or global study

This part should have a broad focus. This must include a combination of social, historical, political, environmental, ethical and economic implications. This focus should include scientific and technological responses to chosen issue(s). Suggested topics:

This part should focus on management of resources at a global level. Students should have the opportunity to investigate the decision-making processes used in the management of their chosen resources. In addition, students should examine the way in which individual decisions and actions may collectively influence policy decisions. Suggested topics:
