Human uses
Biotechnology is leading the way to a new era in health care, with the development of better methods for detecting, preventing and treating disease. Biotechnological techniques, such as DNA profiling, are also proving enormously useful in other areas of human life, such as forensic science and identification.
This section looks at the way biotechnology is being applied for human uses, including updates on the human genome project, the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools, DNA profiling, stem cells and cloning.
