Issues
The following activities explore the issues associated with the use of biotechnology that may make it possible - now or in the future - to:
- genetically improve human offspring
- clone cells, tissues, organs or whole human bodies
- carry out genetic testing for diseases or other characteristics
- produce DNA profiles to identify individuals or reveal relationships.
The exploration of these issues involves consideration of moral and ethical values, economic and social concerns and the rights of the individual versus the wellbeing of the majority.
